SUMMARY:
The Construction Engineer is responsible for assisting in the successful operations of the Chicago, Illinois office. The position requires a high level of ethical and professional conduct in technical and managerial activities. This position reports to the Regional Manager of the Chicago, Illinois office.
TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Serve as the Resident Engineer on projects.
- Assist in prepareing an annual comprehensive marketing plan addressing both short term and long term marketing goals.
- Prepare and monitor project budgets.
- Supervise, coordinate, and mentor junior engineers.
- Assist in ensuring that staff needing specialized training in health and safety procedures and practices receive such training and that safety is stressed as an important aspect of their work.
- Responsible for assisting in the identifying and cultivating of new business and clients in Illinois.
- Responsible for project schedules and timely completion of projects.
- Be active in Technical societies such as; ACEC.
- Be available to attend meetings or events outside of normal working hours.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree and/or master’s degree in engineering from an accredited four-year college or university and a minimum of 10 years experience working with the Illinois Department of Transportation. The ability to work in a group and coordinate efforts with others and communicate effectively is essential. |
