SUMMARY:
The Position of Project Manager-Highway Design would be responsible for managing and growing the transportation design section for the Milwaukee, Wisconsin office of Collins Engineers. The position requires a high level of ethical and professional conduct in technical and managerial activities. This position reports to the Regional Manager of the Milwaukee, Wisconsin office.
TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Ability to manage the full scope of WisDOT highway design projects through to completion.
- A willingness to take a “hands on” role in the design process.
- The desire to grow the transportation design section of the Milwaukee office.
- Assist with business development activities.
- Responsible for proposal preparation, estimating project costs, contract negotiation, project quality, and project profitability.
- Prepare and monitor project budgets.
- Responsible for project schedules and timely completion of projects.
- Supervise and train less experienced engineers and technicians.
- Be active in Technical societies such as; ASCE and ACEC.
- Be available to attend meetings or events outside of normal working hours
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree and/or master’s degree in civil engineering from an accredited four-year college or university and a minimum of 10 years experience. Experience working with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation preferred.
