1, 2006—Collins
Engineers, Inc. a Chicago-based engineering firm,
has acquired the offices of MacIntosh Engineering
and Development Co. of Auburn, California. MacIntosh
is a civil engineering firm that specializes in
the design of earth retention systems.
This
acquisition brings to Collins extensive experience
in the design of permanent and temporary retaining
walls including cantilever and tied-back sheet pile,
mechanically stabilized earth systems, soil nail,
soldier pile and lagging, slurry and sound walls,
as well as more traditional wall systems.
Mr.
Ollie MacIntosh, P.E. will serve as the Regional
Manager and Mr. Tom A. Jepsen, P.E. will serve as
Senior Project Manager for Collins’ California
operation. Together, Ollie and Tom bring more than
55 years of experience in the design of permanent
and temporary earth structures.
Thomas
J. Collins, President of Collins, said the acquisition
will allow the company to “expand our presence
on the West Coast and provide greater value and
resources to our clients.”
