Construction Engineering/Contractor Support
During the construction phase, Collins develops practical solutions to meet very tight schedules and budgets. As members of numerous national technical committees, Collins’ personnel create custom solutions to unique construction problems with an awareness of the applicability and limitations of various codes.
Collins has a wide range of structural evaluation experience. Condition assessments of both structural and building system elements have been conducted on numerous structures to determine the existing state of construction and identify any potential distress that may be detrimental to the owners’ intended use. As part of these assessments, Collins employs a variety of nondestructive testing and evaluation techniques to examine the condition of in‑place structures. Assessments are conducted in accordance with local building code requirements and ASCE Guidelines for Structural Condition Assessment of Existing Buildings (ASCE 11). Collins also provides seismic assessments that follow ASCE 31 Tier I and Tier II seismic evaluation procedures.
