Using Drones for Bridge Inspections

4.4.2016
Share:

Tom Collins, President of Collins Engineers, Inc., and Barritt Lovelace, Regional Manager, will present “Drones: Unmanned Aerial Systems Bridge Inspection Demonstration Projects” at the ASLRRA 2016 Connections meeting on Wednesday, April 6.

Tom and Barritt will discuss the results of a Minnesota DOT-funded demonstration project focusing on using unmanned aerial systems (UAS, or drones) for bridge inspections. The project involved personnel from the MNDOT Bridge, Research, Engineering, Aeronautics, and Counsel offices, in addition to representatives from Collins, Sensefly, and a variety of UAS experts.

Tom will also be able to share his insight as a participant on the governor-appointed Illinois Unmanned Aerial System Oversight Task Force.

The ASLRRA 2016 Connections meeting is being held April 3-6 at the Gaylord National Resort in National Harbor, MD.
