Project Overview
Collins teamed with Mott MacDonald, Inc. to provide an emergency underwater inspection for the Washington State Department of Natural Resources of seven Atlantic Fish Net Pen Systems owned and operated by Cooke Aquaculture. The fish net pens where located throughout Puget Sound in the Seattle area, the San Juan Islands, and in Port Angeles, Washington.
A contract was signed one day before Thanksgiving with an ultimate goal of having all seven fish net pens inspected with reports submitted before the end of January. A total of four one-week inspections took place in December and January. Collins was responsible for the underwater inspection of approximately 180 anchor lines, the bottom of dive floating barges, and 19 octagon floats. Anchor lines ranged in depth from 30 fsw up to 180 fsw, with anchor lines deeper than 100 fsw inspected utilizing an ROV.
