Project Overview
The Blanchette Bridge is a three-span stick-built truss bridge 1,382 feet long with a 480-foot main span.
Collins created a computer model of the bridge and developed a piece-by-piece analysis of erected stages. Falsework was used outside the main channel to assist erection. Erection utilized temporary locking of pinned hangers and longitudinal jacking to assure final closure and position on bearings.
