Project Overview
Construction of the Logan CSO project required an approximately 460-foot by 230-foot excavation extending through 28 feet of soil and rock.
Collins designed an anchored sheet pile system to allow excavation to the top of the rock. Due to the steep angle of the rock anchors, the sheet piles were designed for both bending and axial loads. Lateral loads included soil and groundwater effects, as well as surcharge loads from 800 kip crane loads located within five feet of the well.
