Project Overview
Collins’ Las Vegas office performed civil engineering and survey services for The Palazzo Resort’s 50-floor luxury tower with approximately 3,050 suites, restaurants, and a theater.
Offsite improvements included modifications to 1,000 feet of Las Vegas Boulevard and 1,250 feet of Sands Avenue. Roadway modifications included modifying three traffic signals, widening the roadway to incorporate an additional fourth lane, relocating medians for additional left-turn storage while coordinating with Clark County’s Strip beautification project, providing loop detection for signals, and repaving 1,000 linear feet of Las Vegas Boulevard full-width while incorporating the completed pedestrian bridges. The scope also included a redesign of the traffic signals and appurtenances at the intersection of Buccaneer Bay and the Palazzo South drive entrance.
Collins provided a traffic impact analysis for the development which modeled the effect of a hotel and casino resort upon the surrounding road network. This TIA contained Level of Service (LOS) calculations for seven intersections.
