ACOPNE APPOINTS LAURENCE EMSLEY TO BOARD OF TRUSTEES

Collins Engineers, Inc. congratulates Laurence Emsley on being selected to serve on the Board of Trustees for the Academy of Coastal, Ocean, Port & Navigation Engineers (ACOPNE). The time frame of the appointment runs from October 2015 to September 2017.

Laurence Emsley, PMP, D.PE, P.E., P. Eng., is Collins’ Project Lead for Marine and Energy services and is based in Houston. He has been with Collins for over 3.5 years. With almost 50 years of experience, Mr. Emsley has significant experience working on large-scale port facilities; and offshore oil and gas, transportation, nuclear, and chemical facilities. He was also a member of PIANC’s Working Group 135 which produced the report “Design Principles for Small and Medium Marine Container Terminals.”

The Academy of Coastal, Ocean, Port and Navigation Engineers is an elite group composed of nearly 200 Diplomates who have gone through many years of training and experience to become eligible for Board Certification. The Academy is a way to recognize engineers who have a special knowledge and experience in the fields of civil engineering that comprise ACOPNE: coastal engineering, ocean engineering, port engineering, and navigation engineering. ACOPNE is associated with the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) and ASCE’s Coasts, Oceans, Ports and Rivers Institute (COPRI).
