Collins’ Drone Research Project with MnDOT Wins Award
Reducing Resources Needed and Improving the Quality of Bridge Inspections
This past summer, Collins was part of MnDOT’s research team investigating how to employ unmanned aerial vehicles, or UAVs, to someday help inspect the state’s many bridges. On January 14, 2016, this study received the Governor’s Continuous Improvement Award.
In partnership with the Governor’s Office and the Better Government for a Better Minnesota initiative, the Minnesota Office of Continuous Improvement (MNCI) each year convenes the Governor’s Continuous Improvement Awards. These awards recognize significant individual and organizational achievements from across Minnesota government.
