Excavation Support
Collins has prepared designs for a wide range of temporary excavation support systems.
Ground conditions have included granulated and cohesive soils, including very soft clays, high water tables, and rock. Much of the work has been in urban areas where soil movements and building settlement require tight control. Structure types include cantilever, internally braced, and tied-back systems constructed with sheet piling, soldier pile lagging, rings and lagging, tangent and secant piles, and soil nails and rock anchors. Underpinning designs may also be provided.
Designs are based on a state-by-state analysis with detailed construction sequencing provided.
