Barritt Lovelace has 25+ years of structural engineering experience in bridge design, load rating, safety inspection, and bridge rehabilitation. As Director of UAS/AI/Reality Modeling, Barritt leads Collins’ efforts to incorporate the use of unmanned aerial systems (UAS), artificial intelligence, and reality modeling into client projects to deliver our services with greater value, efficiency, and safety.
Barritt is actively involved in transportation research and has been the principal investigator for six Minnesota DOT research projects investigating the role technology can play in the improvement of bridge inspections. Barritt is certified in rope access, non-destructive testing (NDT), and fracture critical inspection procedures. He is an instructor of adult learning and teaches NHI classes for the Federal Highway Administration.
